Memphis Minnie – “Where Is My Good Man At?”

Memphis_Minnie225Memphis Minnie ranks as one of the blues’ most influential and historically significant female artists. In her early teens she began playing and singing on Memphis street corners and eventually joined Ringling Brothers Circus. During the 1920s she settled into Memphis’s Beale Street blues scene, accompanied by guitarist Kansas Joe McCoy. It’s easy to hear her influence in modern music.
