Thank you Mr. Robert Gibbs...
Thank you very much.
We wouldn't have known what to do with Obama if it wasn't for your skills, Mr. Gibbs. Are you related to the BG's by any chance because we are stayin' alive here! The election campaign was master minded by you, sir. How did you manage to walk around it all?

A Winning song for a winning country!

It's hard to be in a bad mood when you're happy about all this stuff...

Keep your heads together...

Hey Y'all!!
He did it! Can you believe it? Everyone is excited and running around with smiles.
Well...ALMOST everyone. It seems that in Califofnia prop 8 passed. Which means that
marriage is limited ONLY to hetero sexuals. Which MEANS that gay people will still have to pay taxes. I think that's what they are upset about. They are REALLY upset.
So while millions of people get to celebrate civil rights for black people, 221 years of constitutional upheaval, slavery and segregation...gay people are in the street talkin' about tax cuts. I 'm thinkin' now that maybe they should have waited for the next ballot. You know...first get the right people in office...THEN change the marriage laws. But they wanted to do it at the same time as the biggest election in U.S. history. The black and white struggle had to be settled at some point in history, right? And that was a long struggle that finally came to it's resting point in the eyes of our new elected president. It was the main event. And MILLIONS of people are just trying to feel good about it. But the very next day after the election  the Gay people were in the street protesting inequality because they want TAX CUTS.
Personally, I think they should have let black folks enjoy themselves for THIS one. For at least 3 days. That isn't alot to ask. 3 days of smiling would have been nice. But now they are saying that 7 out of 10 blacks voted for prop 8, which negates the whole feeling of celebrating civil rights...so NOW we are hated by a new group of people who are trying to fight for their civil rights. And most black people are trying not to get upset about this one. Because of the whole historic quality of this particular election, remember? We shall over come and all that Jazz.
It's confusing, I know. The only problem with protesting on the same day as other people are trying to celebrate? You will never have there vote again. But any black person will tell anyone trying to get their gay marriage rights...at least you got this far. Black people had to go even further and push even harder. Black people had to come together, stay together and start with their own thing first. It's America. Some people in this country still don't like gay people for some strange reason. But that's America. You have to keep on keepin' on. It'll happen for you if you just keep your head together.

Sara Tavares - Balance
Hello everybody, how ya'll doin' THIS week? If you are like me then you are smiling. Because I have had no money to lose. Sorry to say, but some of us are TRYING really hard to feel bad for the elite, who just aint used to it like some of us are. This no money thing is a way of life for some of us. I heard recently on this thing called the NPR...that's national public radio, that the elite equestrian world is having a difficult time managing their horses. They are unable to keep up with the bills AND feed to keep the horses. So, I guess, some of them are gonna have to choose between the BMW or the Andalusian.
 Anyway...
As this beautiful young lady, Sara Tavares, would say, Balance is the key. "Balance" is the name of her new World Music hit. "Balance" is also the name of her album.  Which is great because that is indeed what the world needs right now. Some balance. So it's no surprise that her song is number one on the World Music charts. Aint she fine? You should hear the sound of her voice. It will make a man stop and listen, I tell you that. I just wish I spoke Portuguese a little more than I do.
So I will leave you a link to her song and a link to all of her info and stuff.

How Long?
Hello everybody. This world has gone completely crazy. Look at this chart here. I don't think I need to say much more about it. I was reading about the 1960's last week and was pretty impressed with all the civil rights movements and protests and what have you...
But now...well...if you are reading this then I should not have to explain what I'm saying, at all. People have gotten SO lazy, it's almost unforgivable. All the work that my generation did? It would break the backs of Blue Toothers today. Shiiiit...it's no wonder the men in charge have it so easy with y'all. No offense, but all you people walkin' down the street Blue Toothin' LOOK insane. You may feel like you aint. But it don't matter. The view from the satelite screen says that y'all LOOK crazy. Go ahead and say what you want about it, but y'all look crazy. Which makes alot of sense right now because the world IS crazy!

Which makes music a wonderful thing.
Am I right? You know that I am! How long has it been since you realized this simple comparison? How long has it been since you have sat down and ignored your cel phone, laptop and television just to LISTEN to some good music? Well...that's why I am giving you a chance right now to answer this hypoctritical question.

Check out this tune from veteran Hip hopster Money B...

Blackalicious
Hello everybody and how are you?
(I hope you are doin' better than Sarah Palin-face is doin' right about now. Can you imagine how terrified she must be? She must be pushin' out bricks through the run in her stockings at this very moment, you know what I'm sayin? )

Anyway...see these brothahs right here?
That's Blackalicious. I would tell you all about them except that I don't really have to. You see, all you have to do is listen to one of their songs. And I happen to know how to hook that up...right here...right now. Just click your little arrow on the the word below that says play...
And you will understand what I mean. Blackalicious is an intellectually stimulating experience that moves you in the hip area of your body. Almost making you want to hop around. But not too much that you miss what they're sayin'. I'm startin' to respect these young cats more and more these days..
Alrighty now...enjoy the sounds of Blackalicious...

Love Everybody...make them feel good about themselves...
Hey y'all! And how ya doin'?
Let's see here, now...I understand that they had a presidential debate last night on TV. It's all over Netsville.
It was good, too. Every time McCan't said somethin' about this country, he mentioned the fact that Obama didn't understand. But when Obama said somethin' he made them both look like they understood what was happenin'.
Which is a clear message to me that he DOES understand. Not to mention that video that's circulatin' around Netsville about the contradictions that involve McCan't speeches. My favorite one is when he was standin' somewhere in the middle east talkin' about Al Queda to a camera. Then one of his partners whispered into his ear that he should be talkin' about Iran instead. And McCan't had to say sorry and correct himself. I was havin' an lol.
Oh and then when Obama reminded McCan't that he was singin' Bomb Iran to a nationally syndicated broadcast....ooooh wee, it was like one of them old karate movies. And then after awhile it just started giving me the willies, ya know? And so I'm lookin' into McCan't eyes tryin to figure him out. Because he's just too old to lie like the rest of them young repubs. If you look into his eyes when he's talkin' it looks to me like he don't really know what the hell he's talkin' about...
Now when Obama speaks, regardless of how pragmatic he may sound, he makes you feel like he's tryin' to love everybody. And that's what this country needs right about now...

I found the perfect song for this topic...
Y'all have a little laugh now and then.

You got to go down
Here he is...
Reverend Gary Davis. He has got a fine message for all of us today. If you can take a minute to try and understand what he's sayin, you and your companion might make it through another week. We got money problems, political issues and war to deal with everyday. And what Gary Davis is trying to say to everybody is that you have to go down. And that's all he is sayin'.
You can interpret those words into whatever you want, now...but believe me...when your wife wakes up early in the morning SHE might look at you and have her OWN definition...
Y'all have a good day, now...

PD4U might teach you something new...

"The bankruptcy of Wall Street powerhouse Lehman Bros. and the first sale of securities rival Merrill Lynch are sending shock waves through the financial system, multiplying the danger to the nation's economy."
-sfgate.com

Hmmm...sounds like the Blues to me.
And now all these folks on "Wall Street" might understand what it means to feel like this. Ya know? And quickly now, before the feeling goes away, sit down with a musical instrument and try and write a song about it. It aint that easy now is it? Yeah boy, that's why you have got to respect the songwriters of the late 20's and thirties for all the work they have done. I mean can you imagine the "REAL" depression?! Nobody could google nothin', back in those days. You couldn't get on your mobile phone and talk to somebody about it ether. You just had to deal with it. Somehow, some way folks had to let it exist in the mind and heart without no real option to choose from.
So take a look down this page if you got a minute. All these songs were written around that time when hope was not even a fiscal possibility. Respect your country music, your blues music, your opera and show tunes...All these musicians and artists were just simply giving  folks a remedy with no real solution. Which is what we needed back in them days.

Have a nice one if you can...

The Message

Hey y'all...how you doin out there? Here in Netsville there's plenty of time to ponder on just about anything you want to. Been listening to hip hop recently. Not the new stuff. But the old. If I want to listen to the newer stuff I always go to Mp34U and search their hip hop section. It's alright, you know? But some of these youngsters don't realize where the original message came from, sometimes. Folkes like me and Blind Lemon Jefferson and Mississippi John and Robert Johnson...we paved the first road to drop ALL of them rhymes on to.
Anyway...like I said, I was browsin through Netsville and I found a classic rap song from the 1980's. Funny how that's the past for y 'all and it's the future for me. So check it out. And tell me if this artist aint sayin' the same thing we was tryin' to sing about back when times was REALLY hard...

Hey everybody, how y'all doin?

Check it, this man Robert Williams is talkin' ' bout some blues that I cannot deny. Why is it always a woman that makes you wanna hoot and holler about everything under the sun? When life gets to be that way, it's best to pick up some kinda guitar and let her go by way of melody. We been callin' it the blues for so long now...for so long.

Jerry Reed is in heaven now

Hey y'all. I just heard some news about country singer Jerry Reed.
He has passed on into the next world. He was 71 years old. That's a good, long life for a country singer. He started at a young age, too.
I aint no country picker on a guitar like he was, but I sure do have respect for an artist who keeps his fans happy. And that's exactly what Mr. Reed did. He even acted in the film world, too. With none other than Burt Reynolds. Smokey and the Bandit. I heard that Burt
Reynolds gave him a Trans Am one day. It was just like the one in the movies, too. Anyway...just givin' my respect to a fellow guitar slinger by the name of Mr. Jerry Reed. Rest in peace young man...
Rest in peace.

Here is a video of Jerry Reed with a song about New Orleans

How Can You Have The Blues?

Hey everybody, Y'all had enough of politics this week?
Me too! Sure could use some relaxin' time right about now. Gettin' sick and tired of hearin' about that hypocrite republican team they got runnin'. What they NEED to do is run for the door that jack built in front of a cliff, is what they need to do...

Anyway, the great thing about bein' stuck here in Netsville is that the music is everywhere and right in my reach. Just a button away. Hmph...check out the buttons on Kansas city Kitty. Oh yeah, and she's around here somewhere. I just found a song that her and what's his name done did. Dorsey...TOM. Georgia Tom. That's his name. Kitty'll make you forget 'cha own name, if you know what I'm talkin' about.
Well...here is a song that...uh...oh yeah...Tom was singin' one mornin'. I don't know how Kitty feels about this song, but I bet she had somethin' to do with it...seems that she ought to be happy about somethin'. But you know how some of these women get. Always gotta say what's on their mind, even if they get a moment of happiness. They seem to find what's wrong somewhere...
Anyway,
Wanna hear it?
Here it go...

Mp3 4U Band Geek
Hey everybody, howz it hangin'?
Yeah boy, summer is leanin' to the left a little and
Fall is closin' in and some of us are gettin' all anxious
about it. I wonder if the women are acting the same, this
time of year, as they always did. I remember them pretty little gals and the
way they would get ready for a long cold winter. Prepare
in the fall, is what they would do. Yeah, that's right. Except
the women are smarter 'n us and never say exactly what it is
that they are doing. Aint that right fellaz?! Cuz they are all
out there, as pretty as can be, lookin' for a nice man to snuggle
up with all winter long.
Heh heh heh...
Now I aint got to deal with that mess at all no more. In fact, what I have is something that a lot of folks call precious. I have all the time in the world.
I do. And I spend it wandering through the endless space of Netsville, here.
I have the time to discover things that I wouldn't have been able to find, back in my younger days, what with all them gorgeous women runnin' around in the sun, half nekkid, and sweatin'. Know what I mean?

(sigh)
But like I said, I got time to browse, now. And when I get to browsin', I be findin stuff.
So, once again, I found something new.
At MP34U.
It's one of them source folk. He calls himself 'Band Geek'
Peculiar name for a person, I would say. He sounds like a horn player to me.
I can tell by the songs he puts up in Netsville. The thing that struck me odd about this particular source was the fact that he has ALOT of songs up. In fact he has 232 songs up.
He's gotta be married. Only a married man would find enough time to do something like that.
His musical taste is all over the map, too. Which makes him an interesting choice, when it comes to selecting a DJ of sorts. Or now we call them an 'MJ' That's Mp3 Jockey, in case you weren't payin' attention. The other thing that I noticed was that 232 songs represents something else. 232 is a number that all of us Americans should be familiar with, right? Do you know what 232 symbolizes, here in this country?
Do ya?
I'll tell you if you are correct. But not until the next blog...

Just think about it.
Every American should know this number.

While you're thinkin'...

Mp3 Jackpot Winners

Hey now, what is this Jackpot Winner cd?! Huh?  How come I wasn't told a damn thing about it? Why is it that I 've had songs for YEARS and then all these NEW folks get to be on the cd?! Am I a bucket 'o glass, or somethin'? Did I just get looked right on through? I mean what damn meeting did I miss? When I look up and see that I was just being heard for what? For nothing? Do you know the trials and tribulations that some of us have been through to write these songs? Lordy, sometimes I swear that these folks runnin' stuff and throwin songs together just don't understand how some of US folks feel...
(sigh)

I mean hey...it's not a bad cd. That's not what I'm sayin at all here. In fact for what it's worth, it's actually  a good compilation. It's modern, I know...and, uh...I aint really into the new, new shit, but if I was...I would have to say that it's a pretty good throw together...what concerns me as an individual artist is...they should' a put ME on it first...and I wouldn't be here right now telling you about it...

I mean, y'know...go ahead and check it out...
I might be on the next one, you hear me...?
You hear me?

Britney Speared on LiveLeak.com

Hey Y'all...check this out...
First of all you have to look at this picture of this LOVELY lady.
Britney Spears, right. Everybody knows who she is, and that she is a singer/performer type of girl. A dancer, too. Somebody has taken the time to shape her in to a celebrity, if that's the correct word. To some of us she is an American pet/media-slave. Go ahead and take a nice long look if you want to.
You done lookin'?
Me either, but anyway...see, what had happened was...

SOMEBODY recorded exactly how she sounds when she is singing live. Which means that what the audience hears USUALLY is her voice on top of a recorded track, plus effects. But SOMEBODY got a hold of JUST HER voice alone...
So...hold on to your seat and try and listen to exactly how she sounds without the extra help that she usually gets.
It's painful, but it allows you to really appreciate the folks who can ACTUALLY sing...

Don't speak, Mr. Prez
Bush says that Georgia's borders need to be respected. He said the U.N. Security Council had passed numerous resolutions based on the premise that South Ossetia and Abkhazia remain within Georgia and that international negotiations seek to resolve conflicts in those areas. "Russia itself has endorsed these resolutions," Bush said.
Bush has been sayin' a whole bunch of things hasn't he?

Whew...just read an article about the Olympics. Threats are bein' made to ALL Chinese people attending from the militant Muslim Terrorizers, or what ever the heck you s' pose to call them.

Now WHY would you try to threaten a billion people. I don't even like the idea of havin' a few folks mad at me, let alone a billion. Besides...you can't see shit anyway because of all that damn smog and pollution...how you gonna tell who is who any how?!

Man...I remember this one time I had two...just TWO women mad at me one week. I had to ask my friend who was a coffin maker to hide me for a couple days. Hey everybody, how y'all doin' today?
Good I hope.

Once again I was checkin' out the sounds at Mp34U and I noticed something. There is this one guy that comes up pretty regularly as a source for music.
Subverse.
That's his name. He must live at the computer, or somethin'. He posts alot!
But whatever he is doin' I am starting to appreciate. I mean I gotta admit that with all this new music out here in the world...there might be TOO MUCH.
I like someone, every once in awhile, to let me know what's good. You know...a second opinion. And it's easier if it's just one person.
Not everybody tryin' ta tell me everything at once, you know?
So if we were gonna vote on a source for Mp34U.com
My vote would be for Subverse. He seems to be slowly hippin' me to the lateset sounds, here in Netsville...
Alrighty...I guess I'll be back later with more Subverse picks...

The world in a nutshell...
Hello everybody. How y'all doin' today?
Good, I hope...
I must say that here in Netsville, things are always up in the air. I guess depending on what you are looking for. Sometimes you can find some really uplifting things to read about. Sometimes you can find some really depressing stuff, too. Either way it all sounds like this word I googled last week. This word I'm talking about is 'dichotomy'. It means a mix of things that don't necessarily work together, working together. Sounds like accepting the good and bad as one to me. Or two opposites that fit like a puzzle. Whatever the actual definition means to you, to ME it means looking at this world with an attitude of acceptance.

I found this article about a congressman apologizing for slavery. Which is a dichotomy in itself, right? On one hand it might be a good reset button for current times. On the other hand it's an insult to 300 years of complete bullshit. Excuse me for that, but it's true. And it splits the minds of black people in two. Which is good if you are into multi tasking, but a headache on top of everything else that we already have to live with. Life itself is already a struggle for ANYBODY, regardless of creed, color or religion.
And so...as I am digesting this information...I find this article : Driver runs down Woman
Which didn't give me time to even let the first article I was reading settle in my head.
It just made me think about another apology.
But a moment of clarity happened for me shortly after. I thought about all the good people I haven't read about yet. Must be thousands of stories out there about goodness. To balance out the terrible tragedies. This world might be full of nuts...but don't forget to stand back and take a nice good look at the whole tree, sometimes...

Alright y'all...lemme leave you with a song I found at Mp34u.com (my favorite music site).
An SF bay area hip hop group by the name of Mavrik.
